The summer is wrapping up, but the bluegrass does not have to stop just yet. Chatham County Line and the Jeanne Jolly Trio take the stage Thursday, September 10 for the final Back Porch Music on the Lawn concert. The free concert is open to the public and kicks off at 6 p.m. on the American Tobacco Campus lawn in Durham.
Chatham County Line
The Raleigh-based bluegrass group headlines the concert for its third time on the Lucky Strike stage. The quartet has all the right pieces for a quintessential bluegrass outfit: smooth vocals and guitar from singer Dave Wilson, exuberant mandolin and fiddle from John Teer, wily yet sophisticated banjo picking from Chandler Holt and a steady bass line from Greg Readling. All together, the group delivers a consistently endearing performance.
Jeanne Jolly Trio
Singer/songwriter Jeanne Jolly opens the concert with soft and tranquil vocals and diverse repertoire. Originally from Raleigh, Jolly's tunes have an amiable aestethic with a variety of influences from smooth jazz to country rock.
