Producer, The State of Thing
Weekend Host
Lindsay Foster Thomas joined WUNC in August 2006 as a producer for "The State of Things." Now she serves in dual roles at the station, producing SOT and anchoring the programming on weekend mornings. She began her experience in radio while a media major at Hampton University in Hampton, Virginia. After graduating, she returned to her native Atlanta where she worked as a producer on WAOK-AM, the city's only African-American news/talk radio station. She continued her career as a morning drive producer at WVEE-FM until the lure of higher education called her back to the classroom. In 2006, she earned her masters degree in journalism from Columbia University, which was kind of like boot camp for journalists set on the streets of Manhattan. She has a not-so-secret collection of Archie Comics, an iPod filled to the brim with 80s tunes, and her fondest wish is to provide the voice for an animated character.
