Patty Painter-Wakefield

Patty's career in radio started at WFDD in Winston-Salem while she attended Wake Forest University.  After college, she worked for another NPR affiliate while she earned a master’s degree in music history in Norman, Oklahoma. Patty began working at WUNC in 1995 as a classical music host.  These days, she can be heard on-air during the mid-day and evening programming.  As Operations Manager she keeps things running smoothly behind-the-scenes , too.  She manages the daily schedule of programming and announcements, as well as, special programming such as documentary shows, North Carolina Symphony broadcasts and occasional holiday specials.
