Eric Hodge http://wunc.org en Bands Converge This Week At Merge 25: Listen To These Three http://wunc.org/post/bands-converge-week-merge-25-listen-these-three
Merge Records is well into it 25th birthday party. The label is taking all of 2014 to celebrate its silver jubilee. There've been reissues of classic recordings and a 25K run already, but this week is a big one for the music. There's a series of concerts both in Carrboro at the Cat's Cradle and in Durham at Baldwin Auditorium on the Duke University campus. Eric Hodge checked in with three artists on the Merge label to find out what they're up to.

Bob Mould

Known for: A dark cloud of words steeped in a sunshine of melody.
Thu, 24 Jul 2014 22:12:32 +0000 Rebecca Martinez, Eric Mennel & Eric Hodge 39547 at http://wunc.org Bands Converge This Week At Merge 25: Listen To These Three AAA All Stars Head To Durham Wednesday http://wunc.org/post/aaa-all-stars-head-durham-wednesday

The annual AAA All Star game is being held for the first time at the Durham Bulls Athletic Park Wednesday.

The Bulls have four players on the International League squad, and the team is being helmed by Durham manager Charlie Montoyo. Festivities began with concerts and other fan events over the weekend.

Scott Carter works for the Bulls. He said excitement is building for tonight's popular Home Run Derby.

Mon, 14 Jul 2014 13:05:58 +0000 Eric Hodge & Rebecca Martinez 38929 at http://wunc.org AAA All Stars Head To Durham Wednesday Loamlands Takes On Heavy Themes, Heavy Guitar In 'Some Kind Of Light' http://wunc.org/post/loamlands-takes-heavy-themes-heavy-guitar-some-kind-light

Kym Register and Will Hackney are back in the Triangle after a long stint on the road.
